The excitement of our Inclusive Futsal Event on 11 July 2026 extended far beyond the final whistle. Alongside a day of teamwork and Unified Sports®, Special Olympics Malaysia proudly marked a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT). The MoU signifies a shared vision to create more inclusive communities by expanding opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport, education, leadership, volunteerism, and community engagement.

The agreement was officially signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chook Ka Joo, Vice President of TAR UMT, and Bong Koi Sin, President of Special Olympics Malaysia. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Ler Hui Yin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at TAR UMT, and Connie Yee, National Director of Special Olympics Malaysia.

This partnership establishes a strong foundation for future collaboration between the two organisations. By combining TAR UMT's academic expertise and passionate student community with Special Olympics Malaysia's mission of empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, both organisations aim to create meaningful opportunities that promote inclusion and social impact.

The MoU reflects more than a formal agreement—it represents a long-term commitment to building a society where differences are embraced, abilities are celebrated, and inclusion becomes part of everyday life.

As we look ahead, we are excited about the possibilities this partnership will bring and the positive impact we can create together.
