Our work aims to empower young people, educators, coaches, and families as leaders for inclusion, starting in their local schools and communities around the world.

Unified Sport
Special Olympics Unified Sports® bring people together, breaking down stereotypes about people with intellectual disabilities in a really fun way. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

Unified Schools
Unified Schools begin with Special Olympics Unified Sports® to build inclusive school communities for young people of all abilities. This programming creates an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included both in school and in their local community.
These schools can expand their programming to include inclusive youth leadership and whole school engagement in order to become Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools®.

Inclusive Youth Leadership
Our Athlete and Youth Leadership have brought young people with and without intellectual disabilities together to develop the tools they need to become leaders for change in their communities.
Sport as platform to promote social inclusion
