Encik Nik Mustapha, General Manager of Professional Golf of Malaysia gave his opening speech, followed by another speech from Ms. Kok Lee Min, National Director of Special Olympics Malaysia. YB Puan Hannah Yeoh had also given a speech, saying “On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, I express our heartfelt appreciation to PGM, UMW Toyota Motor and MST Golf. Through the Toyota Tour, this formidable partnership and leadership in the golf industry not only nurtures the competitive spirit of Malaysia’s professional golfers, but also creates opportunities for juniors and athletes with disabilities to shine.” To praise the efforts and passion our Special Olympics Malaysia athletes had to learn and play golf, a bag and certificate were presented to them.

Over the last six months, the Special Olympics Malaysia athletes participated in 12 bi-weekly golf sessions with professional instructors from MST Golf Academy and The Golf Lab who volunteered their time. MST Golf shows a strong dedication to promoting inclusivity and giving back to the community by providing golf training to Special Olympics Malaysia athletes.

The #GolfForGood event’s high point was the engagement between Toyota Tour players and Special Olympics Malaysia athletes on the green, which included a chip and putt activity. This participation not only displayed the athletes' abilities, but also emphasised the value of inclusivity and community support. With that to conclude, the #GolfForGood event was a resounding success, highlighting the power of sports to inspire, motivate and unite. Special Olympics Malaysia would also like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to everyone who collectively contributed efforts to provide the best opportunities for our athletes.
